TAISEN DESHIMARU SESSHIN
April 30 @ 21:00 - May 3 @ 16:0090€
Also called the sesshín of gratitude, in homage to master Deshimaru’s mission in Europe, to whom we owe our practice of the Zen of Buda. It is celebrated on the dates of the anniversary of his passing away.
The sesshin, directed by his direct disciple and Zen master Barbara Kosen, will take place at Shorin Ji from the 1st to the 3d of May. The arrival is set for April the 30th in the evening.
Every sesshin is important but, especially, this one points to our lineage Dogen – Sawaki – Deshimaru in occident. As usual, we will practice both veterans and beginners without distinction, disciples and non-disciples. Zazen and samu, all together in harmony, without goal or rank, just as master Deshimaru taught in Europe.
Meals are for the most part vegetarian, with the exception made at the end of the sesshín, when we cook a celebration meal. Participants must bring their own bowls, taking care and washing them after each meal.
To get around the temple installations at night we need to carry a flashlight with us. For sleeping, it is important to bring our own sleeping bag.
If you are not member of the Association Zen Taisen Deshimaru yet, you will have to register paying the annual member fee of 20 €, as it is a requirement for practicing at Shorin Ji.
