New installment of the Northern Sesshin in Pontevedra, Galicia, with Master Bárbara Kosen during the weekend of San Juan: June 24th and 25th.
Arrival on Friday afternoon, June 23rd.
Organized by the groups and dojos of Cantabria, Gijón, León and Pontevedra, to promote the practice in the north of Spain.
Place: Casa D’Agosto, in the village Estacas, belonging to the municipality (concello) of Fornelo de Montes, Pontevedra.
Mainly vegetarian food, only in the last meal some meat or fish is served.
You will need: a bowl that should be washed after eating, a zafu (traditional cushion) for zazen (if you don’t have a zafu, please consult us, as they are available), dark and flexible clothes. It is also recommended to bring a flashlight, and earplugs can help light sleepers rest better (shared dormitories).
How to get there:
From the North, by the AP-9 to Pontevedra, then take the PO-542 towards Orense to A Ermida to take the PO-532 towards Ponte Caldelas, and continue on the PO-255 to Fornelo de Montes, where at the main crossroads there is a detour to the right that leads to Estacas. When you reach the village, take the road next to the restaurant Casa Chalán, a few meters away you will find Casa D’Agosto.
From Madrid, coming from the A-6 take the A-52 towards Orense/Vigo, turning off at Melón to take the N-120 Logroño/Vigo and finally the PO-255 to Fornelo de Montes and then the turnoff to Estacas. Casa D’Agosto is just after Bar Casa Chalán.
RAILWAY (RENFE): There is an Alvia train from Madrid direct to Pontevedra, about 4 hours trip. There is also AVE to Orense, it is faster but you have to change trains and take another train to Pontevedra, this sometimes means waiting, and the inconvenience of changing trains. In any case, we offer transportation by car from the train station in Pontevedra to the place of the sesshin.
FLIGHT: Vigo Airport, we would also try to coordinate the pick up from there to the sesshin.
Registration: 75 euros
Payment methods:
One-time advance payment of 75 € by bank transfer or Bizum.
Pre-registration: 20 € by bank transfer or Bizum and the rest in cash during the sesshin.
