Practice has peeks and drops, but persists and, as it happens, February begins with a sesshin. Some things captivate us and others escape our attention. The illusion that endless engrossment in daily activities, related to work and leisure, will lead us somewhere, will lead us far, it is out there. Yet out there there’s also the Buddha’s Way. To take the posture is the right thing to do.
On February 1 and 2 the Sangha meets with Teacher Barbara Kosen for the first sesshin of 2020. The time of arrival is the 31 in the evening, before the dinner (20:00) that inaugurates the sesshin. Afterwards beginners will have an introduction to the posture and the deportment in the dojo.
Zazen and samu will occupy most of the time of the following day and a half, without expectations, without appetite for profit. Concentration is established and concord prevails. Zazen at dawn, zazen at mid-morning, at mid-afternoon and in the evening. Samu (work around the temple operation and premises) also plays a part in the practice.
Accommodation can be in dormitory, hut or dojo. The total price of the sesshin is € 60.
Attendants non-members of the Asociación Zen Taisen Deshimaru must register and pay an annual membership fee of 20 euros. This can be made on-the-spot during the sesshin.
