Easter Sesshin

“Interdependence is what unites all existences. No one, nothing is separated from the totality. It is like a movement between all the elements of the cosmos. If this movement stops, it leads to the reduction of the elements, the fixation in an inert state, without movement, and the consequent disappearance. The law of interdependence allows to maintain in a state of perfect equilibrium all the relationships and interactions of the phenomenal world: water, air, the human body, even planetary systems, everything is governed by this law in a perfect harmony of inter-relationship.” (Barbara Kosen, Comments on the Hannya Shingyo).
Arrival at the sesshin on Friday afternoon, March 22th. Welcome dinner.
Saturday 23th, from early in the morning, intensive zazen practice throughout the day, alternating samu (daily concentration), meals and rest.
Sunday 24th, same dynamics until noon. Closing of the sesshin with aperitif and a festive meal.
Open to beginners and people who wish to have a first contact with Zen. Although it requires effort, the interdependence of the group generates a healthy atmosphere that sustains the practice of each and every one present.
To participate at Shorin-ji events requires a membership of the Deshimaru Taisen Zen Association, for which you just have to register your details and pay the membership fee: 20€ (this can be done at Shorin-ji at the time of payment of the sesshin).
After the sesshin, zazen and samu practice continues throughout the week for those who wish to continue.
