A weekend of intensive zazen practice, the sitting meditation practiced in the tradition of Zen Buddhism

Schedules and activities

The session starts on Friday 7th with dinner at 9:00 p.m. We recommend arriving in advance to settle into your rooms.

That same Friday after dinner there will be an introduction, to help you with the sitting posture, with the breathing… and answer your questions.

Throughout Saturday and Sunday morning we are going to practice zazen, we are going to prepare food together, we are going to receive teachings about Zen, we are going to introduce ourselves to rakusu sewing, we are going to eat in the traditional way in the dojo (you need to bring your bowl for meals)… This weekend is an excellent opportunity to get closer to the true Zen transmitted in Europe by Master Deshimaru, and to share some time with the sangha, the treasure of the community.

And we finished on Sunday the 9th after lunch.

The session will take place in Las Marinas (Asturias), about 12 kilometres from Oviedo.
