There is this zazen stone on the mountain,
Shall a visitor come, I will break the pine twig and take the green moss off the stone (Master Daichi)
Upon her return from Cuba, master Barbara Kosen is conducting this intensive period of zazen, sesshin, from October 29th to November 1st at Shorinji, Forest of Awakening Zen Temple.
Arrival to the temple October 28th afternoon.
Saturday 29th will be for preparation (three zazen). In the evening it will take place the annual assembly of the Taisen Deshimaru Zen Association. The next day seshin pace (4 zazen daily) until the end.
To practice a sesshin is to develop the essential nature through the zazen posture, repeated throughout the day alternating with samu, meals and resting.
Samu is very important. It is not an ordinary task, it is to practice the Path through team work, be it collecting firewood in the forest, sweeping the floor of the Dojo or helping with meal preparation, body and mind unified in action.
In this way, the practice of Zen completely settled into daily life, we achieve happiness and became free like the autumn wind.
