Zen Calligraphy Workshop

Workshop on Zen Calligraphy imparted by Zen monk, master and calligrapher Christophe Ryurin Desmur on July 2 and 3 at Mokusan Dojo, Madrid.
The workshop will take place on Saturday through morning and evening, starting at 10:00 h. after an early morning zazen (8:00 a.m.) -to which attendance is recommended.- and also during the Sunday morning (10:00-14:00 a.m.).
Previous experience is not required. Materials needed for the workshop are included.
Chinese calligraphy, like Tai Chi or Chi Kung, embodies one of the energy arts. Bodily attitude, concentration on the breath and search for harmony and balance are essential factors for this art. If correctly practiced, calligraphy brings calm and composure, evenness and inner strength to the performer. It develops artistic creativity and helps to express sensibility through the composition of chinese characters, serving at the same time as a pictorial training.
Registration fee 70 euros; members of Taisen Deshimaru Zen Association: 50 euros.
