28 January ◷ 20:00 - 30 January ◷ 16:00
First sesshin of 2022, directed by Barbara Kosen on January 29 and 30 at Shorin-ji zen Temple.
The arrival takes place on Friday 28 in the afternoon.
Like any sesshin organized within the Taisen Deshimaru Zen Association, no previous experience is required.
A sesshin is an intensive retreat devoted to the practice of zazen. On the first day there are four zazen sessions, two in the morning and two in the evening. The second day ends, after the morning sesions, with a party meal. One session consists of two or three sittings interspersed by the practice of kin-hin: walking with the breath. Each sitting can last between 35 and 50 minutes. However, during zazen we concentrate on the present moment, so time is not a difficulty but a real opportunity to live it fully.
To practice in Shorin-ji it is essential to be a member of the Association, by paying the annual fee: 20 euros.
Bring a winter sleeping bag, a bowl and a flashlight.
