Mokusan Dojo holds a free initiation class to Zen practice, i.e. Zazen, aimed at those who visit a Zen dojo for the first time.
Zazen is the posture of the Buddha’s Awakening. It is necessary to receive advice from an experimented practitioner in order to attain the exact posture. Very precise instructions about body, breathing and mental attitude will be provided, and also experimented along 30 concentrated, silent and still minutes.
Besides, as the time lapses before and after Zazen are also important, the whole demeanor will be shown through the different actions that take place at the dojo: how to enter, how to do the walking, how to exit, etc. Among these actions Gassho, Kinhin and Sampai are included too. All this opens a new dimension in our daily life, inasmuch as practice brings us back to the essence of our existence here and now in harmony and unity with ourselves and with the others.
Last, a round of questions in order to clarify and to share. Information about the dojo’s practice schedule, fees and the shanga’s activities will be also provided.
